Yo Kotsubo

After 3 years of tae kwon do, Yo began helping teach students. This is when she decided to pursue being an instructor. Yo then went to school, graduating in 2008 majoring in Sports Science. Her motto came from her sports science professor whom she admired. "Have fun with a purpose and learn by doing. When you leave the gym, you are smiling and sweating."

Yo believes that  boxing and weight training at Contenders Training Studio help us improve not only physically, but also mentally because physical strength gives us the feeling of confidence, accomplishment and willingness to take up on challenges.

Yo is Contender's Front Desk Manager and is available to answer any questions you may have about the gym. Constantly working on updating the gym with new looks and information makes her very accessible and knowledgeable.

Yo enjoys personal training and looks forward to helping others reach their goals. With a detailed approach, she will get you the results you're looking for!



Active Isolated Stretch

Yo has been trained to walk you through the stretch process and assist you to get the most out of your session. It is relaxing and painless.

Some of the beneficial effects of this stretch are:

* improved oxygen and nutrition flow to the targeted muscles which helps the muscle repair itself.
* improved flexibility and health of muscles, tendons and ligaments.
* reduced risk of muscle strain and tear.
