Past Event: Soccer Game at Ambleside Park (Saturday July 10, 2010)
Thank you everyone who joined us for the soccer game! We had a lot of fun! Most of us were very inexperienced in soccer, but we put on a great game! We would love to do it again. (Click here and go to "Events" for the pictures.)
New at Contenders: Assisted Active Isolated Stretch
Contenders Training Studio would like to introduce our new service,
Assisted Active Isolated Stretch.
Contenders Team is always looking to improve our service, and we are confident that Assisted Active Isolated Stretch is something that many of you will benefit from, whether you are trying to improve your performance in sports, bothered by your tight muscles, or recovering from an injury.
As many of you may agree, stretching tends to be neglected in our busy life, yet it is crucial to prevent injuries and to recover quickly from vigorous physical activities. Active Isolated Stretch helps your body repair itself and prepare for daily/sport activities by lengthening muscles and increasing the oxygen flow to the tissues. This stretch is very helpful, especially when it’s done regularly.
Assisted Active Isolated Stretch is done one-on-one (therapist and client) on a massage table or a chair. One session (either upper body or lower body) takes about 25-30 minutes.

Past Event: Bentall Fitness Month Self-Defense Seminar (April 15, 2010)
We hosted a self-defense seminar as a part of Bentall Fitness Month Events. At the end of the class, all participants got to practice the techniques they learned on one of our instructors who wore a self-defense suit. They were encouraged to use the techniques with full power, just like what they would need to do to defend themselves from an attacker in a real situation.
